FAQ
Hi Amanda, I hope you are well?
I was just wondering if you could help me at all?
As procurement of B12 is currently over drug tariff, I am wanting to amend the prescription to receive a reimbursement which matches my costs however the brand they have sent me – Mercury Pharma doesn’t have a listing on Dm+d. What should I do in this situation as I don’t know whether to amend it or not?
Hi there,
I am very well thanks – hope all is good with you?
If there is no listing on DMD, you could look and see if the wholesaler has a listing?
If not you can add Mercury Pharma as the amendment but you will have to add the price paid in the left-hand column as well as pack size etc.
Good morning Amanda,
We have been amending our prescriptions to Tamfrex when we have given the brand Tamfrex, as it has a better reimbursement price than Tamsulosin. However, Prescription services have been reimbursing us as Tamurex which has a much smaller reimbursement – what should I do?
HI there,
You will need to speak with Prescription services and ask to see your amendment and then query why Tamurex has been reimbursed. You are correct, the reimbursement price of Tamurex is much less than Tamfrex.
Good afternoon Amanda,
Hope you’re ok?
Please can you advise us, we have been endorsing our Generics over Tariff to gain the DMD ‘indicative’ price, however NHS Prescriptions Services have been sending the prescriptions back asking for a price to be added. We didn’t think we needed to add a price? Please can you advise?
HI
If the manufacturer/supplier on DMD has an ‘indicative price’, then you do not need to add a price. If there is no ‘indicative price’ on DMD, then you will need to add the price which you have paid.
